The Traditional owners of our land

Welcome to the Whitsundays the land, sea and sky country of the Ngaro and Giya/Gia People.

Pinnacles respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners whose land we are privileged enough to live, work and play in every single day. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging and acknowledge their ongoing relationship and connection to Country.

Within our local area, the Ngaro People inhabited the Whitsunday Islands and coastal areas stretching from Cape Conway and down as far as the mountains to the east of Proserpine. They were a seafaring tribe known for their distinctive three-piece canoes, crafted from ironbark. Yooribaya Cultural Experiences are proud Ngaro People with amazing stories to tell.
